During the winter months in the northern hemisphere, why not roll back the clock, grab your fly rod, and head to the magical world of Patagonia, Argentina. Here you will experience the world's most incredible trout fishing in perhaps the most hospitable nation on earth - Argentina.

The Patagonia portion of the Andes includes the southern most provinces of Neuquen, Rio Negro, Chubut, Santa Cruz, and Tierra del Fuego, encompassing a length of over 1250 miles.

Patagonia River Ranch ...is located in northern Patagonia in the province of Neuquen. Nestled on the banks of the world famous Chimehuin River, and situated between the sleepy fishing village of Junin de los Andes and the vibrant alpine village of San Martin de los Andes, our location is central to the most diverse fishing waters of Argentina.

Logistics of the trip to Patagonia River Ranch:
  • On a Thursday, fly from most major U.S. cities on American, United, Delta, or Continental Airlines overnight and directly into Buenos Aires, Argentina. Arrive on a Friday morning. We recommend that you spend 1 night in this amazing city, commonly known as the "Paris of South America." We suggest the 5-star hotel in Buenos Aires called the Alvear Palace (www.AlvearPalace.com, but other 3-5 star hotels are also present. (We also suggest that you use our English-speaking transfer agents in Buenos Aires to assist you with these accommodations since they are very familiar with our guests and the Patagonia River Ranch's operation. They can also assist you with transportation services to/ from airports/hotels, city tours, and Tango show reservations and much more while you are in Buenos Aires.
  • The next day (Saturday), at approximately noon you will take a short 2-hour jet flight into the quaint resort town of San Martin de los Andes on Aerolineas Argentinas Airlines where you will spend 1 night. Our transfer agents can also make these flight and hotel reservations for you if you if you would like them to do so.
  • Sunday morning (at the time of your choice), a PRR staff member will pick you up from your hotel in San Martin for 40 minutes drive to Patagonia River Ranch where the fishing and ranch experiences will begin.
  • At the end of the week on Saturday, you will be driven back to the San Martin Airport (Chapelco airport) in order to meet your flight returning to Buenos Aires. You will arrive into Buenos Aires approx. 4:00pm, which is plenty of time to meet your connecting overnight flight back into the U.S.
